What a Wonderful Christmas weekend

First of all, I hope everyone one had a good Christmas.  Did Santa bring you all your presents you asked for?  I hope so 'cuz that would mean you were nice and not naughty.  I have to say this is one of the best christmases I have had as an adult.  I say this mainly because I had a great time wrapping presents for Caitlin and got to watch her make her cute little faces when she tore paper or saw her gifts.  Thurday night on Christmas Eve we went to Bob and Bev's house.  We had some good food and some good times.  Caitlin got to play with Mandy alot and learned that if she took her gifts to Grampa Bob that he would get them out of the packages.  I think she loved all her presents from Grampa Bob, Nana Bev, Uncle Dan and Aunt Sarah.  I think she had a couple of favorites but i think that there were so many that she didn't know what to play with first.  Though, she really enjoyed playing with Nana Bev's gifts from Sarah.  Nana Bev received some threads and material for her quilting and Caitlin seemed to enjoy playing with those.  Maybe when she gets older Nana Bev with quilt with Caitlin since she loved handling the stuff.  That will be some good bonding and memories with Nana.  I also learned that Cailtin loves Ruffles.  That's all she seemed to want to eat that night.  Well I hope the Folges and Whitlocks enjoyed the gifts we gave to them.  Our intentions were to make them memorable.  My dear family will get theirs later.  It's a shame I don't get to spend time with them but I know that they know I love them very, very much and I miss them every year.  I hope to make their gifts memorable from Caitlin aswell.  Christmas Day was lots of fun. I'm not sure who enjoyed opening the presents more. Caitlin or us!  I have pictures to get a vote.  Anyway, Caitlin had lots of fun with all her presents but I think she enjoyed the company even more.  Grampa Bob, Nana Bev, Uncle Dan and Aunt Sarah came over fairly early that we had breakfast and lunch at the house with them.  It was great!! I enjoyed cooking breakfast for everyone and then opening gifts with Caitlin.  For lunch, Dan and I cooked some food but I have to say that Dan did more of the cooking and I was the sous chef.  It was very pleasant cooking with someone that knows how to get around the kitchen.  Anyway, we had good food.  Luckly I didn't burn the ham this year.  It was definetly a christmas to remember.

On a different note, Cailtin hasn't been feeling well.  She's been running a little fever and I was sure that it was the teething but today I'm not so sure.  On Christmas eve she had a little bit of a rash around her mouth after licking the eggnog spatchula and shortly went away.  So we thought it was an allergy to the nutmeg. Kinda strange.  Well Christmas she was still running a little fever and slept a good while after everyone left so later that evening we noticed a faint rash when we bathed her so we thought we would keep an eye on it.  Saturday her fever was higher but not for long.  We were able to control it. Today the rash is alot worse.  I'm not sure what it could be, maybe apple juice.  That would be the only thing different that she is having.  Still not much of an appetite lately.  The cutest thing overall though is that we've checked her temperature so much that she would take the ear thermometer and try to check it herself.   I hope she starts feeling better and the rash goes away by tomorrow morning otherwise I will need to take an extended lunch hour to take her to the doctor.

I'm going to have such a good little helper.  She tries to help with everything.  It started with her helping with taking the mayo to David at Walmart.  Then she wanted to hand her Daddy the frozen food that I was putting in the basket.  At the register she wanted to take the stuff out of the basket and hand it to her Daddy to put on the counter...she even helped to push the cart.  So cute, I wish I had my camera. (people would have thought i was crazy taking pictures of it!!)  Anyway, the funniest and most embarrassing was at Target.  We were picking out containers of ornaments to purchase at 50% off when Caitlin decided to help and the bottom of the container she picked up came apart.  I don't think I have ever been so embarrassed in public in my life but she just stood there not sure of what had happened as I quickly tired to pick them up.  A handful of ladies helped pick up the ornaments which I thought was really, really nice. They must have known how that must have felt. :)  Needless to say, I'm so glad they were plastic!!

Early Christmas Present

Caitlin had lots of excitment this week and weekend. This week started off by having very little friends at the daycare since lots of parents are getting off for the holiday which means lots more attention for Caitlin. One day at daycare we got there a little early so I had time to sit there with her while she ate breakfast and she had three pancakes. (little ones but still three) Pretty soon, Mr. Leo is going to start charging us more for Caitlin's appetite. He's always a great sport and will say, "Do you feed her at night?". I always come back with, "She just loves your cooking, Mr. Leo!!" It's so funny how she has him wrapped around her little finger. One other morning, she kept pointing at the plate because it was empty and Mr Leo said, "Should I give her some more?" after her second piece of toast with jelly. I said, "hmmm, I don't think she'll eat it. That's alot of food." He then went to the kitchen to make her some more and she followed since all the kids had gone to their rooms. Once he got her the toast he told her she could go to her classroom and eat and she did as she was instructed. One morning, she had oatmeal and she usually has two bowls but that morning I actually got her to eat her applesause so she didn't need an additional bowl. Though I think if I would have served  her another she would have eaten it. I promise we do feed her at night...plenty. Anyway, then on Friday the daycare had Santa come visit. I took the morning off to join them and that was lots of fun. I took pictures of all the kids and most of them seemed to like Santa but there were a few that didn't like him at all and Caitlin was one of them. When it came to her room to come visit with Santa, Caitlin was crying and throwing herself on the floor trying to get away from him. Luckily, David got out of work early and came to the daycare also before Santa left and was able to take a few pictures with Caitlin and Santa. That's the only way she would get close to him. Brooke on the other hand loved Santa. She enjoyed sitting on his lap and would laugh with him. Caitlin and Brooke are BBFs for now. (i think). They say hi to each other in the morning at the very least. Most of the time they hug each other or have soft touches. Luckily Brooke doesn't remember that Cailtin bit her thumb and took skin off.

This weekend was awesome!! Saturday, Joe and Magda came over for about an hour to visit with Caitlin. Though their visits aren't often or long enough, Caitlin really seems to enjoy them. She played with Grandma Magda and Grampa Joe. I saw glimps of love and tenderness in Joe's eyes. He treated her with such tenderness. I really, really enjoyed their visit and wished we had more moments like that. I think Caitlin is so lucky because I grew up without grandparents. My Dad's mother was the only one that I ever new and the only memory i have of her is her funeral. Though i do have pictures with her and of her i don't remember her at all. Anyway, I think Caitlin is very lucky because she has three grampas and two grandmas. I just hope she gets to interact with them more often. Saturday evening, David took his girls on a date but Caitlin ended sleeping at the Tai Restaurant. The date was GREAT!! I got to eat my food while it was still hot.

Sunday, we were suppose to go to church but didn't. Caitlin woke up super early and David took care of her while I slept in. He's so sweet! I was so tired since Caitlin Saturday did the same thing, and decided to wake up early. I let David sleep in on Saturday because I knew he wasn't feeling well. I'm not sure if it was allergies or something because he had a headache on Friday and Saturday. Needless to say, we both needed a break so early in the morning and he chose to give me the extra much needed sleep. Though I'm not sure if that was such a great idea since i should be sleeping now and I'm not very sleepy at 11pm. Regardless, not the most productive weekend but a great weekend for sure.

Chilly is SA

I couldn't resist on posting this picture.  It's been a little cold in San Antonio for the past few days so Caitlin needed a new jacket.  I think she likes it and she's been getting alot of attention with it so here it is....

Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving Holiday was great!!  We celebrated on Sunday before Thanksgiving with Bob, Bev, Dan and Sarah and then drove to Brownsville the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  Caitlin was a little hard to handle at times but overall not too bad.  I'm really glad I got to do a little bit of shopping on Black Friday.  Caitlin seems to be asking "what's this?", and saying "close" and "open".  I'm not sure when she learned those words but all i know is when we got home from the trip it seemed to be in her vocabulary.  She's growing up so fast.  I can't believe it's been two years since we found out we were having a baby.  She has been such a blessing and I wouldn't change a thing up to now.  I hope and pray that in the future we have lots of more family moments with extended family so that everyone gets to know Caitlin.  She might be little but I think she can win anyone's heart.  She's so smart... (i know all parents say that about their kids but in this case it's true.)  Caitlin will show you how smart she is when you come to visit so if you want to test her, come on over.  Keep in mind, if you see her five time or 25 times or 2500 times she will steal your love and will keep you coming back for more... so be warned.  How much do you want to let her in?  It's all up to you.  I know that she has taken my heart and hasn't given it back.  My most precious gift is here to share...

Thank you Cuqui for taking our pictures on Friday.  I wish we would have taken a few more without Caitlin getting so cranky.  I think we got a couple of good ones to use.  I wonder when she will stop having to carry a toy to stay still.

The two loves of my life!!!!

Garage

Cleaning the garage was alot more fun than I thought it would be.  Most of the day, Caitlin and I sorted through things and made piles of donation and recycle.  We also swept and threw stuff away.  I never in a million years thought that it would be that much fun.  Caitlin would grab the broom and start helping her mama.  I think we spent most of the day out in the garage.  David put up a few christmas trees downstairs.  The point of cleaning the garage was so we could start decorating for Christmas.  I know it's a little early but it comes so quick that we would like to really enjoy it this year.  Anyway, David got some video of Caitlin sweeping and carrying the dust pan around.  Both Caitlin and I were so tired that Cailtin slept like 10 hours last night.  I hope she's that helpful when she grows up.  On other news, Caitlin started knodding yes yesterday.  It is the coolest thing to experience the firsts.  I will need to ask her teachers on Monday if she had been doing that in class too?

It's been a month

It's been a month since I have posted and I am so ashamed.  So many things to talk about.  The memories that i do not want to ever forget: Caitlin enjoying hanging outside pulling weeds with me.  She would pull me up and say, "up" as if she didn't want me to sit down on on the grass.  I would pull weeds and she would help me by pulling blades of grass and handing them to me.  She really enjoys the outside.  The pumpkin patch was so much more fun this year.  To see her enjoying herself out there was priceless.  My birthday came and went.  Nothing too exciting but i wanted it that way.  I spent some quality time with my family, David and Caitlin. I received some beautiful cards from David and Caitlin and a peanut charm that I already took to James Avery. Thank you so much for the Birthday phone calls and wishes.  I have decided that I will no longer celebrate birthdays unless there is a costume party involved.

Halloween was fun.  We went to the office for a potluck on friday and on saturday I had a community gathering at the park.  David and Caitlin came over to the park for a little while and loved running around the park with Caitlin.  Dan and Sarah hung out for a little while also at the house and we got to give the kids that came by bags of chips.  That was lots of fun.  I really enjoy when Sarah and Dan come over.  Hopefully when Madelyn is born we will get the girls to be great friends and make awesome memories and traditions.

Caitlin had school pictures again and I'm so excited to see them soon.  Olan Mills went to the daycare to take the pictures and Caitlin wore her dress that her Buelo Andres got for her....fancy.  I can't wait until David, Caitlin and I take pictures as a family.  Our first portraits ever and it will be with our angel.

I am so excited that Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  Dad can't wait to see Caitlin and I can't wait to see Dad interacting with Caitlin.

Faker

Today was a hard day.  Most of the night we had this crazy loud storm that kept me up most of the night.  We woke up somewhat late that I missed going to church.  I could have gone to the 11 am service but it seemed rushed.  We woke up with Caitlin chatting and giggling.  I cooked some oatmeal and had breakfast.  The odd thing about this morning was that I fed Caitlin first and at the very end she threw up a little.  I didn't think it was a big deal and she didn't act like she was really bothered by it so I started eating the rest of the oatmeal i had cooked.  Almost towards the end I started feeling like I was going to throw up so I stopped eating.  I didn't throw up like Caitlin but I didn't feel well either.  We went to Target and Best Buy and we were fine so I forgot about the morning.  We had lunch and a snack during the day but Caitlin didn't drink too much milk.  During dinner she didn't want any food so I just gave her some milk while she was sitting in her chair.  She was almost done when she started coughing but it was one of those coughes that she does to get some attention so I started teasing her.  I told her, "don't be a faker, faker, faker"  and she threw up again.  Now, I really felt bad for calling her a faker but it sure seemed like she was coughing just to cough.  Anyway, she showed me.  I won't call her a faker any time soon.  After dinner and the cleaning up of Caitlin I wasn't feeling well so I decided to take a little nap and didn't get to tell Caitlin goodnight since she fell asleep by the time I woke up.  David said she drank some milk and did well and just fell asleep on him.  She didn't sleep much during the day so she must have been really tired and probably not feeling very well from her tummy.  I hope tomorrow is a good day.

Fear

Today was a very interesting day.  We woke up somewhat early and did the usual like breakfast and a Walmart run but we also got to do something a little different.  After the usual routine we got dressed to go out to lunch with Ali (David's friend).  Unfortunetly, Ali called and cancelled but we still went out to eat.  We went on a search for a sushi restaurant not too far from the house but it was closed for this week so we ended up eating a hamburger at Babe's.  Caitlin was not interested in eating but I think she enjoyed herself since it was her usual naptime and didn't act like she was tired.  After lunch, we stopped at Bev's house to a quick visit since I had a Hills of Shaenfield comittee meeting scheduled.  When we got there Caitlin was observing her surroundings and didn't seem tired at all.  Mandy was outside so I tried to get Caitlin to come to the window to look for her but she didn't seem too interested in doing that.  Bev let Mandy in and for the very, very first time Caitlin showed fear.  I never in my wildest dreams thought Caitlin would ever express fear when it came to a doggie.  That was the interesting part of my day.  Once Caitlin and Mandy warmed up to each other it was great.  Mandy loved to kiss on Caitlin and Caitlin seemed to love to pet Mandy.  I hope I don't see too many days were Caitlin shows fear.  That was the oddest reaction from Caitlin and it made me feel sad and odd.  I felt bad that she actually felt fear when there was no need for it.  Mandy didn't growl at her.  She was just trying to smell and kiss her.  I will always protect her and I hope I proved that today.  I held Caitlin and showed her that Mandy was ok by letting Mandy kiss on me and by me patting Mandy in approval.  It didn't take Caitlin long to get over her fear but I don't think I will forget any time soon how that made me feel.  Our visit at Bev's was nice.

Once we left Bev's house I went to my meeting and then went to JcPenny.  I called David to let him know that I was done and he said Caitlin was sleeping.  So I took some "me" time.  I got her the cutest little outfits and can't wait to take pictures to post on the blog.  All the outfits are 24 months which might be a little big but don't seem to be extremely out of line.  Hopefully she will get alot of wear out of them.  I wish today would have been a longer day and I'm saddened that it's time to go to sleep.  David has been asleep for a couple of hours now so i should probably do the same since I'm sure tomorrow will start pretty early too.

Nana Bev's present

Caitlin patiently waiting for her milk before heading to school in the morning on Tuesday, September 29th.  She was styling in Nana Bev's outfit that she bought for her on her trip.  I was a little worried that it wouldn't fit but that didn't seem to be an issue.  We called Nana Bev on our way back home that evening but she wasn't home.  I thought the real thing would be better than a picture.  Well I'm sure Caitlin can wear the outfit again soon.  The next picture is of Caitlin with her sippy cup not wanting to wait to drink in the car. :)

Caitlin was such a big girl today.  I logged on to the cameras at school and to my surprise they were on their way for a wagon ride.  So i logged on to the hallway camera so i could take a peek at her leaving on the wagon.  That was not the case, she was walking along side the wagon this time not riding it.  Before Caitlin went to that class I would see the other kids walking with the teacher or pushing the wagon like big kids and I thought that was the cutest thing but seeing my daughter do it now was even cuter.  She is growing up so fast.  I wish time would just slow down a little especially during the weekend and holidays.  Anyway, then i logged on to the toddler playground thinking that they would stop there but nope, they were still walking around.  She looked so cute in the outfit Nana got her and a white hat that Ms Emily put on her to go outside.
I wish i could have taken a picture of that.

Caitlin today went to school in her little outfit that Ms Maria got for her on her birthday but aside from that she also didn't want to leave the house without her blue lamb that Aunt Sarah bought for her for Easter.  She just wants to be miss independent.  Making her own decisions.  We better set the ground rules now otherwise it's going to be a hard 20 years.

I hope everyone had a great day!!

New Shoes

Caitlin was such a sweetheart today.  David had to go to work early this morning and left me to get Caitlin ready for school on my own.  He was so sweet.  He was so quiet when he said goodbye to Caitlin that she didn't wake up when he left.  I'm sure he would have preferred to wake her to say goodbye and see her smile but that would have been really hard on me to get dressed and chase after her.  Anyway, Caitlin woke up in a really good mood and we were on the road in no time.  I dropped her off at the daycare and she was as happy as can be eating her cheerios when i left.  When i picked her up she seemed so tired and was really fussy and surprisingly she didn't fight me getting into her carseat like usual.  Aunt Kerry had sent me a text to drop by her house so before going home we went by.  Unfortunately, Caitlin was sleeping so she didn't get to see Kerry.  Caitlin's personal shopper was at it again.  The cute little shoes that Caitlin is wearing while hanging out with Dada courtesy of Personal Shopper Aunt Kerry.  When we got home Caitlin finally woke up so I tried them on and then she wouldn't take them off.  I tried taking them off because they are still a little big but she didn't care.  She wanted to wear them.  I think little miss Caitlin is going to have a big personality in that little body of hers or should i say, tall body of hers.  We had dinner, hung out for a little while, took a bath and she was ready for bed.  I do have to say, when i was getting Caitlin dressed for bed I asked her twice, "give mama a kiss" and without hesitation she gave me very clear kisses.  I love my little Sunshine with all my heart!!  I hope all my days end like this....

Teacher Parent Conference

Hello Everyone!! This week was not very eventful but a few things did happen. On Tuesday, we had a Teacher Parent Conference at the Daycare. I thought it was a great idea to have this since we never get to chat with the teacher together (David and I) and I only knew a couple of the parents...ok i know most of the parents but never really talk to them much other then Kerry and Adrian's mom, Brisa. We met Sofia's parents, Christina and Erik. I was dissappointed that not all the parents made it. Kerry had to go to Austin for work and by the time to got to San Antonio she had honestly forgot. Nolan just picked Brooke up and didn't stay for the meeting and Brisa, well I'm not sure about her. But i do know that she wasn't there. Anyway it was a nice meeting and learned a little more about the teachers and the kids.

The picture for the post is of Caitlin with her pajamas getting ready for bed. Aunt Kerry came by this evening with a little present for Caitlin. Kerry is so funny. You would think she is truely part of the family. Kerry could be Caitlin's personal shopper if I handed over the credit card. Always finding things for her and outdoing her mama. Caitlin would be happy to leave with her from Daycare and loves loving on Kerry when she sees her. (I think this is more of a Brooke/Caitlin spat) Tonight, Caitlin started crying when Kerry left. I think she wanted to hang out with her a little longer. Kerry didn't stay very long, as a matter of fact we never even closed the front door since she had the car running. Now that I think about it, that was kinda rude. Kerry, you can't tease Caitlin like that!! Your always welcome to stay longer. Anyway, Caitlin really liked her present from Aunt Kerry.

On a different note, the Annual Homeowner's Association was held this week and I attended the meeting. John Work nominated me for the Board of Directors which i accepted thinking more people would either volunteer or get nominated but that didn't happen. Therefore, John and I are on the Board of Directors for this coming year. It's going to be a long long year. I hope that we can get a playground at the park this year to make our community a little nicer. Anyway, looks like it might be a challenge.

And finally, Caitlin and I went to church today. She enjoyed it a little more today than last week but she doesn't seem to enjoy sharing mama too much. We also went on a long walk saturday and sunday since David was on call and didn't get out much. It was overall a good weekend and I enjoy ever minute that I spend with my family. I just wish there was more family time than work time. I hope everyone has a great week and I will try to post more often as events happen rather than waiting for the end of the week if time permits.

Long Week

This past week sure did go by fast and so many things happened.  The week started off like normal.  Monday we woke up had to go to work and had to take Caitlin to school.  Tuesday was lots of fun for Caitlin because Brooke turned one and Kerry made goody bags and muffins and brought them to the school.  On Wednesday David and I had a Dentist appointment.  Mine didn't go as well as David's.  They took x-rays and Dr. Pratt thought I could have something wrong so he sent me to a specialist.  He thought I might have to have a root canal and he scaried me by what could happen if i just ignored it.  They also took the wire from my bottom teeth off since it was loose.  On Thursday, I went to the Specialist and got much better news.  Nothing was wrong but better safe than sorry.  Though I didn't enjoy more x-rays.  I never noticed how uncomfortable those are.  The tech said, "you have a small mouth..".  It would have been really funny if he would have said, "You have a big mouth!!!" :)  Anyway, it ended well.  Friday was a typical day at work...super busy! On the bright side it was friday!!  Saturday was consumed with cleaning, laundry and visiting with the Black Family.  It's so funny to me that Kerry's last name is Black when her maiden name is Greene.  I wonder if she'll try White?  Anyway, I had a great time with them visiting.  I'm not so sure Caitlin enjoyed sharing but she's got to learn. I couldn't believe Cailtin was fighting with Brooke for her things and pushing her to get away.  They would fight for a few seconds and then everything would be ok.  Sunday was a great day.  I spent the morning doing the usual.  Breakfast and then a run to Walmart but after that Cailtin and I went to Church.  This is Caitlin's first trip to church and I'm not too sure if she really like the idea since she didn't get her usual nap but she did get to play with some unfamiliar faces.  She was definitely nervous when we got there because she didn't want to get down but she soon warmed up to the idea of playing with the other kids.  She really enjoyed all the books in the room.  She got to walk around alot in the building and I think that really wore her out because she fell asleep in the car and slept for a good hour.  Dan, Sarah, Bev and Bob came over for some quick visits and that was really nice.  I'm not sure if Cailtin is going to be a Daddy's girl but I sure am going to enjoy any time she'll want and wants to spend with me.  I can't wait until she starts talking.  It feels so good when she's in the mood and gives you kisses.  I love saying to her, "give mama a kiss" and when she's up to it she'll come over and give me a kiss.  This is what everyone talks about.  This is why it's so cool to be a parent.  I hope I get to build some mommy and Cailtin memories and traditions.  I'll post some pictures soon of the weeks activities.

1st Day of Football

Today once again was a normal day. Caitlin was happy to stay at the daycare without any problems since like usual she was looking forward to breakfast. I didn't get to check on her very often but I did call the daycare late in the afternoon to see how she was doing. They said she was having a blast riding on the wagon and watching the older kids play. David picked her up today and was told that Caitlin bit Brooke. Apparently, Brooke was putting her fingers in Caitlin's mouth and thought it was funny when the teacher would pull her hand away and tell her "no". Caitlin must have gotten tired of the whole thing and just bit Brooke. I thought it was funny that she bit her BFF but Kerry didn't seem to think it was funny.
Below you will find a few pictures that i took today and about a week ago. The first is the outfit that my Aunt Gloria gave to her for her birthday and I thought she looked so cute going to school. Though she wasn't very happy about staying at school and didn't want to take a picture. Caitlin was demostrating on how to be upset in public. The other two were taken today. David was watching football and we were hanging out with him before and after Caitlin's bath. We played in Caitlin's room and she loves taking stuff from her closet and leaving them around the house.  The middle picture is Caitlin in an outfit Mr. and Mrs. Cantu gave her for her 1st Birthday. She looked really comfortable. The last picture is after her bath and she was getting really tired. Shortly after I put her to bed and didn't fuss about going to bed at all. Well, once again I say Caitlin is the light of my life!

Presidential Speech

Today was another day of work and usual routine but the icing on the cake was seeing Caitlin clapping at the President during his speech. It was so cute to see her clap and hear her laugh when Congress would clap at the President's speech. She really seemed like she was interested and knew what he was talking about. She is definetly the highlight of my day. I hope everyone had a great day today.

Family in Town

This has been a really cool day.  My Dad, two brothers and sister from Colorado have come into San Antonio for a wedding and we have had the chance to visit for a little while.  My Dad and brother Enrique have been staying with us at the house.  My Dad has really enjoyed spending some time with Caitlin.  You will see a couple of pictures of them having a good time while having some lunch.  We went to my niece's wedding tonight but unfortunetly didn't stay very long.  My Dad wasn't feeling well so we had to come home right after dinner.  Well I won't make this very long but I sure am thankful and grateful for the family time that I am able to have with my family.

Girls Night Out

I had a great weekend.  Friday night we went out with David's co-workers and Caitlin was being a social butterfly.  She didn't want to sit in her high chair, she just wanted to walk around.  She loved the fries at the restaurant and really enjoyed drinking from her own cup that they brought over.

Saturday was a day to clean and get ready for going out with the girls.  I organized a night for Sarah.  We went to a Salon called Pinky's Nails & Spa and everyone got a manicure except for me. I got a pedicure.  I worried about Caitlin all night and I was crawling out of my skin because i forgot my telephone and could text David.  I truly tried to enjoy myself but i found myself wondering how Caitlin and David were doing.  I know that David can watch Caitlin but it's funny how I don't want to miss a single moment without them and find myself wanting to hang out with them even though I'm enjoying myself.  After the Spa, we went to dinner.  We went to La Hacienda and had some great mexican food and some good drinks. Or the other way around, who knew by the end of the night.  I wish Sarah the best with her wedding and marriage.  I hope all her expectations about marriage are exceeded.  I know that her brother is the best husband, father but most importantly friend.  My marriage to David has definitely exceeded all my expectations beyond my belief.
Sunday was a day of headaches, cleaning and laundry.  David got to get away for a little while to go watch GI Joe.  I thought Caitlin would go to sleep most of the time he was gone so I could clean and do laundry alot faster but that didn't work out.  Either way I enjoyed my time with Caitlin.  She tried to be a good helper even though she made more of a mess.  Best prize of all was her saying, "mama", giving me a kiss when I would ask her, laughing and babbling none stop.
Monday, was back to the normal schedule. Woke up, dropped off Caitlin at school and fought traffic on my way to work.  Nothing happened at work that was out of the ordinary other than a group of 7 went to lunch to celebrate a co-workers birthday.  Caitlin was so pleased when I picked her up and she just wanted to run around outside with Brooke before we actually left the Daycare.  She is so active and vocal.  I just wish she would actually say some words.  I know that will be one of the most memorable moments when she starts talking.  I'm not sure if I will be able to understand her completely but I'm sure it will be really cute.  We will see...

Great Thursday after all

Well, today started off good with Caitlin waking up in a good mood.  At Daycare she was so happy to get her plate of pancakes and not sad at all to see Mama go off to work.  It makes me feel more at peace that she isn't unhappy when I leave.  Regardless, i know that she's not like that all day long but it still feels so much better when she's happy when I leave.  Work was really busy and of course I didn't get to dent my to do list.  I wish i could just catch up and not feel stressed out about work.  Well even though work wasn't all that great, the end of the day was great.  When I picked Caitlin up from school she was so happy to see me that she was waving and walking really fast towards me.  We walked around the shopping center for a little while and when I said, "lets go see Dada" she was happy to get in the car.  On the way home i say a car accident right in front of me and I was thankful I wasn't involved.  I would have been really mad if that van would have hit me.  I'm just thankful we got home safe and sound.  When we drove into the garage Caitlin called out for her Dada and started looking around.  Our little schedule has become so comforting that Caitlin already knows that her Dada will come get her out of the car and Shiloh is somewhere around to greet her.  We had dinner and a snack. Caitlin then had her bottle and got a bath.  Soon after she fell asleep and Mama is ready to go to sleep too.  I am so grateful that tomorrow is Friday and I'll be able to hang out with Caitlin a little longer.  Sweet dreams little peanut.

New Hair Cut

Today was a good day for Caitlin. Though, I think she was disappointed that she went to school. She doesn't normally care when she gets dropped off at school. As a matter of fact, she normally waves bye-bye to me when I leave but today was different. She started throwing a little trantrum when I was letting her know I was leaving.  There was another mother there dropping her kid off that is new to the class so I couldn't help but ask if he did that. Sure enough he does. Cailtin is so funny she does alot of what the other kids do and she doesn't even know why.... Why are kids that way? I wish she would pick up only the good things.  I guess I'm asking for too much.  Regardless, another reason I would like to be a stay-at-home mom. Staying with Caitlin the past few days was so hard and tiring but it felt so good at the end of the day spending so much time with her. I will treasure every moment with her and try to be patient. Anyway, today overall was a great day. When I picked her up so wasn't as excited as she normally gets when she sees her Dada but I'll take whatever I can get. I cooked some ground turkey for dinner with onions, green peppers and a tomatoe and she seemed to like it alot. I gave her a spoon and half. You know the ones that you use to cook with. That was alot for her especially not eating so well lately but she ate most of it if not all. After that we went upstairs and played a little and then I gave her a bath. While she was in the tub, I noticed that her bangs were getting in the way so I thought I would give her a little hair cut. Well I might have gotten a little carried away with the scissors but it will grow back. :) David says it looks cute. I couldn't get to the back since she wouldn't let me so I will try tomorrow. Caitlin must have been really tired since she went to sleep by 9:30 and didn't fuss at all. I wish her sweet dreams.  I love my little Peanut and wish I could give her the best this world has to offer without spoiling her.  I truly believe my parents did a great job with me and my siblings.  I know my brothers and sister think I am spoiled but I don't think so.  My parents gave me alot of the things I wanted as I was growing up but I think I turned out ok.  I hope my parents are proud of us as I know I will always be proud of Caitlin.

Oh before  forget, I noticed tonight that Caitlin has 6 teeth on the top with two more coming and 4 on the bottom with two more coming.  Four of the top teeth are very visible but the others have already broken skin and she still has two more coming on the top.  The two front bottom are very clear and the molars on the bottom have broken skin two but there are two more coming!! They are coming so fast!!!

One Really Bad Week

Well this has been one crazy week. I wish I would have posted on a daily basis but I was too exhausted to worry about it. Caitlin got sick on Monday. We woke up to one really messy, messy diaper. Monday just didn't get better for her and neither did the week. Talk about one really bad week. Anyway, So she got sick on Monday and David picked her up early. Tuesday, David stayed with her at home since she wasn't doing so well keeping her food down. I called he Doctor's office on Monday to find out what we should do. I was told just to keep her on Pedialyte and if it didn't stop within 5 days then we could schedule an appointment. Of course I didn't talk to the actual Doctor but I thought that was the next best thing. Anyway, I thought it couldn't hurt to give it a few days and it didn't seem it was something to worry about all that much. Just a little bug. Anyway, on Wednesday David took her to Daycare since I needed to be to the office early. Mr. Leo was already calling me by 9 am letting me know that Cailtin was not keeping her breakfast down. I couldn't wait the 5 days so I called the Doctor's office for an appointment. David was able to leave work and take her to the Doctor. Talk about not feeling like a good mother. Wednesday is my busiest day normally but add the 12 properties getting ready to close their books for the month the following day and my boss not being in town. I just could not leave. I stressed all day but managed to get my work done too and get the next two days off. I know I put alot of stress on David but he was such a great trooper. He watched Cailtin on Wednesday and kept me informed as much as he could since he had his hands full. Thurday, I stayed home with Cailtin. She seemed to be doing better but hadn't really eaten much. So not wanting her to be totally weak I thought, I would try to give her some food and if she wants her milk I would try that too. I made some chicken rice and she seemed to like that on wednesday and thursday she had cherios for breakfast. Between phone calls from the properties i played with Caitlin and tried to keep her smiling. I just hate to see her not feeling good. Thursday night Caitlin was playing with some glass coasters in the livingroom and even though her Dada had said to stop playing with them, Mama said, "Oh she'll be fine and she seems happy and entertained. Don't worry." Caitlin broke one of the coasters and cut herself. Once again, I felt like the worst mother ever. Needless to say we will always listen to Dada. I was so exhausted by the end of the day on Thurday that I think I went to bed at 9 and didn't wake up until 7:30 when David was leaving. This week just doesn't seem to be getting any better for Caitlin. On Friday things were looking alot better. I woke up early 7:30 and gave her breakfast. I took her out for a walk in the neighborhood so she would get some fresh air and some sun. She always goes for a wagon ride at school and this week she hadn't so I thought i would get her back to her usual schedule. Everything seemed to be going so good that we joined David for lunch and did some shopping afterwards. Nothing extreme just a couple of things at Babiesrus but I think Caitlin enjoyed herself. She pointed at everything. I wonder if she thought, why is Mama not putting stuff in the cart? Anyway, after walking around the complete store I thought we should go home since we really weren't buying much and should really be staying home. I mean I don't want to start setting a bad foundation. Whenever we are sick and don't go to school we stay at home to get better, right? Once at home, I put Caitlin in her crib since she seemed tired and again got hurt. She bonked her face on the crib and bruised her right cheek right under her eye. I just can't believe the week she has been having. You could say this is the worst week ever!! (aside from the delivery) Today, Saturday, was a thousand times better. She wasn't so fussy but when I gave her a bath I noticed a rash around her mid sections so I'm keeping an eye on that. Doesn't seem like a big deal but since she's been having such a rough week, I'm not taking any chances. We did our usual Walmart run and we got Caitlin a little sofa so she can sit and watch tv too. She really liked it and that is the picture I decided to post for today. Hopefully tomorrow will be the beginning to a great new week for Caitlin. I will say my prayer everyday so God will keep her save and healthy.

Feeling Really, Really Bad About My Choice

Well today I really feel like the worst mother ever. This morning Caitlin woke up to a blown out diaper. It was so bad that David threw the sheets into the washer after he put Caitlin in the shower so I could bathe her before we left the house. She definitely did not like her Daddy putting her in the tub with her clothes and turning on the water. She really cried. After I got her out of her clothes she was a little better but she still wasn't enjoying her bath like normal. Off to school and work we went after all that drama at home. I checked on her during lunch since she was the only kid sleeping and that's not normal at all for her. Mr.Leo said she wasn't feeling well and Ms Emily wanted to let her sleep. I was totally ok with her still sleeping it just wasn't normal for her. She's usually the first to wake up from her noon nap. In the afternoon to my disappointment Mr. Leo was calling because Caitlin was on her 4th loose diaper and had thrown up like never before. I called the Doctor's office and they say it was probably a stomach bug and I shouldn't start to worry too much since it would probably go away within a couple of days. If it continues for about 5 days or more than I should take her in. I sure do feel like the worst mother ever. David left early from work to pick Caitlin up since she wasn't feeling well. When I got home Caitlin was in her high chair eating a cookie and ready for more food. She must have been hungry. Oh, before I forget she also had a booboo on her head and nose. I'll need to talk to the daycare tomorrow. Anyway, not a great start to the week but I do hope it gets better as we get closer to Friday.
Thank you Kerry for the nice chat tonight and I think I will take a different approach to my life. Tomorrow is a new day with a new beginning and it's all new experiences from here. I won't run away from a challenge just embrace the new lessons in life.

Fabulous Weekend

This was a FABULOUS weekend! It was really eventful and fun. Saturday morning Cailtin woke up in a super good mood. I couldn't but lay in bed and listen to her chit chat in her crib. Waking up to that is the neatest feeling. After finally getting tired of talking to herself she start yelling louder so David went and got her and brought her to our bed. She loves playing peek-a-boo with us and mocking Shiloh because she's on top of the bed. Caitlin has also learned to play (fall) on the bed so she bounces and she was really enjoying that. After getting tired of stressing out because she could hurt herself we finally got out of bed to have breakfast. After relaxing most of the morning we finally got dressed to go to the Melissa's Bridal Shower. That was hosted at the Lion and Rose Pub. This would be Caitlin's first Bridal Shower and she did very well. She ate the fried potatoes and liked drinking water from the straw. That was the start to a great evening. After a couple of hours we went home and Nana Bev and Grandpa Bob came over. Cailtin seemed so happy to see them and she ran up to Nana Bev and gave her a huge hug. It was so cool to see her so excited to see them. They stayed and visited for a couple of hours which made the visit very nice. Hopefully we'll have lots more visits like that one. Caitlin must have worn her self out because she was in bed by 8:30 and I must have fallen asleep by 9 on the couch snuggled up to David. I'm sure the 3 or 5 glasses of wine I had that night played a huge role on that one. Anyway, Saturday was full of wonderful memories.

Sunday morning we went back to our usual routine. We went to Walmart for the usual grocery shopping and walking around the store as our form of exercise. :) After coming home and putting all the groceries away, feeding Cailtin and getting her to take her nap. I went back to Walmart to pick up some lawn chairs that were on sale. They wouldn't fit in David's car so I HAD to go in my car though I wanted to drive his car. Anyway, after picking up the chairs I took some me time and got a little pampering. The fun didn't stop there, I went home hung out with Cailtin for awhile and then we took a bath so we could get ready to go to a Mission's Baseball Game. The Baseball was so much fun even though we didn't get to see much of it. Cailtin walking around like crazy, got to take a picture with Henry the puffy taco and drink watermelon water. She really enjoyed drinking that. Well too bad the day had to end but it sure was a GREAT weekend.

Daddy's Little Girl

Well this was a huge surprise, NOT!! Caitlin is such a Daddy's Girl. David has been picking Caitlin up from School lately so I don't get the excited look from her when she is picked up. Well not only did Caitlin hang out with Dada for a couple of hours before I got home this whole week, she didn't want me to put her to bed tonight. I got to feed her, which she didn't want because Dada was outside and she wanted to go out there and I gave her her bath which she wasn't too happy with me because she wanted to stay in the the tub longer. Caitlin really didn't want her Mama today. So sad! On a happier note she did start waving hi. That was really cool. I look at her and she has this look of excitement and love. I wish I could just squeeze her without her getting fussy. I have also learned that she loves the outdoor. I hope that David and I can create this great outdoors for her that she will enjoy.

On a different note, Caitlin will hear from her Buelo everyday if she is in a talkative mood and today she got to hear from him. I am so happy my Dad got to meet Caitlin. I know my Mom is looking over her from heaven but I do wish that Caitlin would have met her in the flesh. My Mom would not have wanted to miss anything in Caitlin's life which could have made for some very busy weekends driving to Brownsville or having company staying over all the time. Regardless, I know that Caitlin is loved though I wish we had more family time from our extended family. I guess I will never be able to have everything I want but this should not be this difficult to accomplish. Hopefully if all turns out well my Dad and brothers are coming to visit soon.

My Dad is so funny sometimes. He will always say, "give my little girl lots of kisses", but lately he has changed it up a little. Now he continues to say, "give my little girl lots of kisses and hugs but not too many because it would be like I would be giving them to David." He'll also say something like, "my poor little girl, she's got her Dad's face." (of course in spanish it makes a little more sense). Anyway, yesterday I finally had a good combat. I told him, "well Dad that's ok" and of course he said, "nooooo, how?". So I continued, "it is ok since your not giving her the hugs and kisses, it's me!" He got so tickled that he gave me credit for my statement. I love my Dad and I feel so good that he is so entertained with my family. I know that he loves, admires and respects David and that makes me feel really, really good. Even though my Dad has never said this, I know that David will always hold a special place in his heart.

Fussy Caitlin

Today was one of those crazy days that you wish wouldn't repeat but always something cute at the end of the day makes it all better. Today Caitlin was really cranky at the end of the day but she seemed to be better when we went outside to pick up after Shiloh. She seemed to enjoy walking around with her little yellow scooper. She also wanted me to water the grass which I thought was really funny. We took a little break and went to Walmart with David for some more weed killer and ended up with a few other items, like usual. We found this flower pot that was really nice for just $10. I'll take a picture once I actually plant something in it. Anyway when we were coming back from Walmart David wasn't feeling to good so I drove his car. The 300 is really nice and I really enjoy driving it. It has lots of cool feature like driver seat memory for two drivers and navigation. Once we got home, Caitlin had her dinner and I noticed that she is getting two more teeth on the bottom gums. Poor little thing, she must really be hurting since her molars are breaking thru too on the top gums. Caitlin has learned that playing on the couch is fun and she will climb from one couch to the other in the theater room. She finally got tired and wanted to hang out with David. She had her milk and has finally gone to sleep. I hope she rests well and has sweet dreams.

I don't think I could have asked for a better family and I'm very grateful for all the God has provided for me. I don't feel deserving of it but I thank him everyday.

Mama

Caitlin said "mama" today and actually seemed to know what she was saying. That was the coolest feeling ever. I kept telling her, say "mama" and she would. I can't wait until she starts talking to me. This is the beginning of my side of my great family's events. David has the family blog all set up but I thought I would participate in keeping my view of my memories aswell. Now the whole pregnancy and the first year of Cailtin's life is a blur of how i felt and how i saw things and I don't want to go on another day creating some awesome memories and then not remembering. This might not be read by anyone but I sure hope i can look back and read about all the good and bad things that have happened through out the years. Today, I will keep it short since it's almost eleven and i need to go to work tomorrow but i will continue to post as i go along. I'll also try to post some pictures of my favorite times of my life with my family.
