What a Wonderful Christmas weekend

First of all, I hope everyone one had a good Christmas.  Did Santa bring you all your presents you asked for?  I hope so 'cuz that would mean you were nice and not naughty.  I have to say this is one of the best christmases I have had as an adult.  I say this mainly because I had a great time wrapping presents for Caitlin and got to watch her make her cute little faces when she tore paper or saw her gifts.  Thurday night on Christmas Eve we went to Bob and Bev's house.  We had some good food and some good times.  Caitlin got to play with Mandy alot and learned that if she took her gifts to Grampa Bob that he would get them out of the packages.  I think she loved all her presents from Grampa Bob, Nana Bev, Uncle Dan and Aunt Sarah.  I think she had a couple of favorites but i think that there were so many that she didn't know what to play with first.  Though, she really enjoyed playing with Nana Bev's gifts from Sarah.  Nana Bev received some threads and material for her quilting and Caitlin seemed to enjoy playing with those.  Maybe when she gets older Nana Bev with quilt with Caitlin since she loved handling the stuff.  That will be some good bonding and memories with Nana.  I also learned that Cailtin loves Ruffles.  That's all she seemed to want to eat that night.  Well I hope the Folges and Whitlocks enjoyed the gifts we gave to them.  Our intentions were to make them memorable.  My dear family will get theirs later.  It's a shame I don't get to spend time with them but I know that they know I love them very, very much and I miss them every year.  I hope to make their gifts memorable from Caitlin aswell.  Christmas Day was lots of fun. I'm not sure who enjoyed opening the presents more. Caitlin or us!  I have pictures to get a vote.  Anyway, Caitlin had lots of fun with all her presents but I think she enjoyed the company even more.  Grampa Bob, Nana Bev, Uncle Dan and Aunt Sarah came over fairly early that we had breakfast and lunch at the house with them.  It was great!! I enjoyed cooking breakfast for everyone and then opening gifts with Caitlin.  For lunch, Dan and I cooked some food but I have to say that Dan did more of the cooking and I was the sous chef.  It was very pleasant cooking with someone that knows how to get around the kitchen.  Anyway, we had good food.  Luckly I didn't burn the ham this year.  It was definetly a christmas to remember.

On a different note, Cailtin hasn't been feeling well.  She's been running a little fever and I was sure that it was the teething but today I'm not so sure.  On Christmas eve she had a little bit of a rash around her mouth after licking the eggnog spatchula and shortly went away.  So we thought it was an allergy to the nutmeg. Kinda strange.  Well Christmas she was still running a little fever and slept a good while after everyone left so later that evening we noticed a faint rash when we bathed her so we thought we would keep an eye on it.  Saturday her fever was higher but not for long.  We were able to control it. Today the rash is alot worse.  I'm not sure what it could be, maybe apple juice.  That would be the only thing different that she is having.  Still not much of an appetite lately.  The cutest thing overall though is that we've checked her temperature so much that she would take the ear thermometer and try to check it herself.   I hope she starts feeling better and the rash goes away by tomorrow morning otherwise I will need to take an extended lunch hour to take her to the doctor.

I'm going to have such a good little helper.  She tries to help with everything.  It started with her helping with taking the mayo to David at Walmart.  Then she wanted to hand her Daddy the frozen food that I was putting in the basket.  At the register she wanted to take the stuff out of the basket and hand it to her Daddy to put on the counter...she even helped to push the cart.  So cute, I wish I had my camera. (people would have thought i was crazy taking pictures of it!!)  Anyway, the funniest and most embarrassing was at Target.  We were picking out containers of ornaments to purchase at 50% off when Caitlin decided to help and the bottom of the container she picked up came apart.  I don't think I have ever been so embarrassed in public in my life but she just stood there not sure of what had happened as I quickly tired to pick them up.  A handful of ladies helped pick up the ornaments which I thought was really, really nice. They must have known how that must have felt. :)  Needless to say, I'm so glad they were plastic!!
